A Spouse/Unmarried Partner Visa lets you to stay in the UK for 30 months and can be extended for 30 months more. To extend it, you submit an FLR (M) form to the Home Office.
The requirements are as follows:
- To continue to meet the financial requirements.
- English language requirements – You are tested on writing, reading, listening and speaking.
- You are in a genuine relationship and continue living together
- You meet requirements relating to character, conduct and previous immigration history
- You are in the UK lawfully
Tier 2 Visa Extensions
The total time you can stay in the UK on a Tier 2 Visa is 6 years including any extension.
If you continue to be employed by the same company as your initial Tier 2 Visa application and continue to meet the same eligibility requirements, you can apply for an extension.
Your employer must apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) when they agree to extend your contract. Once the CoS has been assigned, you get three months to apply for a Tier 2 Visa extension or 60 days prior to your current visa’s expiry – whichever comes first.
Tier 1 Visa Extensions
An Innovator Visa lets you stay in the UK for three years. When it is due to expire, you can extend it another three years with no limit on how many times you can extend it. To be eligible for a Visa extension, you have to re-apply with a new endorsement. As long as you meet the eligibility requirements and are running a business in the UK you are eligible to apply for the extension.
Investor Visa
An Investor Visa lets you stay in the UK for 3 years, 4 months. You can apply to extend it for 2 more years. The application must be made before your current visa expires.
