Tier 1 Visa Extensions
Innovator Visa
An Innovator Visa lets you stay in the UK for up to three years. When it is due to expire, it can be extended for a further three years. There is no limit on how many times it can be extended. You must re-apply for the visa with a new endorsement before the current one expires. You still must meet the eligibility requirements and be either running a business in the UK or plan to set up a new one.
Start-Up Visa
A Start-Up visa permits you to stay in the UK for two years. It cannot be extended, but you can transfer from it to an Innovator Visa.
Investor Visa
An Investor Visa lets you stay in the UK for 40 months. You can apply to extend it for an additional two years before the current Visa expires. There are strict criteria for an Investor Visa extension, such as:
Having at least £1 million of accessible funds (2 million if your first Visa was granted after 2014)
Having invested £750,000 or more in government bonds, share or loan capital in British companies within three months of first being granted the initial Tier 1 Investor Visa
The cost to extend this visa is £1,623 per person plus a charge of £19.20 to have your biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) taken.
