New British Citizenship Report
A report about new British citizenship by an independent inquiry has advocated a reduction in fees, as well as suggesting citizenship ceremonies could be held in iconic venues and making children born in the UK citizens by right.
Changes to UK Immigration Rules
On 10th December 2020, the Home Office published changes to the UK Immigration Rules.
EU Students Face Visa Fees
EU students face Visa fees of £800 if they do not enter the UK before the end of the Brexit transition period. The Home says those who arrive after 31st December will not be eligible for pre-settled status and will be subject to visa application fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
Updated Immigration Health Surcharge Fees Published
The list of fees for UK immigration applications was updated on 1st December 2020 to reflect the new visa routes that have been introduced. The amounts are unchanged: application fees have been frozen for the last two years. One thing – the Immigration Health Surcharge – has increased though.

Settlement as a Skilled Worker
Since 1st December 2020, migrants who would have applied for settlement in the UK (“indefinite leave to remain”) under Tier 2 now must apply under a new Skilled Worker route.
