The recent news Britain’s major visa-processing units, the UK Citizenship Application Services (UKVAS) and UKVI will begin a phased reopening from 1 June 2020 has been welcomed. Applicants will be able to access the services on an assignment basis and they will be admitted in phases. UKVAS and the UKVI are going to continually monitor the success of their plans, and they aim to serve as many applicants as possible.

How might I be affected?

People selected as eligible for phase one will have been told they are able to book appointments. A list of all the Service Points that are reopening is on the UKVCAS website. In some areas of the country, Service Points will not reopen immediately. However, UKVCAS have stated that they will be reviewing their approach regularly to assess when they will be able to open up more appointment slots.

How do I book a place?

If you are eligible to access one of the Service Points, you can book a place by following these steps:

  • Login to UKVCAS
  • Once your booking is confirmed you will get a booking confirmation that includes attachments with QR codes for your application.
  • If you can, you can save time at your appointment by printing off all of the attachments and taking them with you
